Spaghetti Squash Supreme

Cooked spaghetti squash and crisp bacon pieces are sautéed with butter, brown sugar, sea salt, and fresh ground black pepper.

Ingredients -
1 Large Spaghetti Squash, cut in half lengthwise, seeds discarded
4 Bacon Slices, diced
3 tablespoons Butter
1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Coarse Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 cup shredded Swiss Cheese
 
Preparation:

1. Microwave one half of the squash cut side down on a plate for 8 minutes on high or until tender, turning once.

2. Repeat the same steps with the other half.

3. Cool.

4. Using a fork, remove the squash into strands.

5. Set aside.

6. Cook the bacon until crisp in a medium skillet.

7. Remove the bacon.

8. Add butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

9. Crumble the bacon.

10. Add the squash and bacon to the skillet, stir and heat through.

11. Remove the skillet from the heat and blend in the cheese.

12. Serve immediately.

Storing Squash

For best results, do not store uncut spaghetti squash in the refrigerator. Store on a countertop or in a bowl in a cool, dry location. Keep out of direct light.

Cooking Methods

For best results spaghetti squash can be whole or halved, steamed, cooked in the micro-waved or roasted in the oven. Once cooked, the spaghetti squash should cool a few minutes before cutting and scraping the spaghetti like strands.
